Our Free Samples are So Hot They’re Driving People to a Life of Crime!
Think that headline is just a gimmick to get you to read this article? No such chance! I’m sorry to say that Homemaker Barbi’s free samples are so great they are now driving people to a life of crime. People, anonymous people, people whose identities I will never discover… “What is she talking about?” you may be asking. I’ll tell you the sad tale!
Today I went to the post office and was overjoyed to receive my free sample in the mail from Walmart of Weather Works Frizz Ease shampoo, conditioner, and style sealant creme. Or so I thought. When I attempted to open the postcard to get the freebies out, the seal on the postcard had been broken. Peering inside curiously, a chilling discovery was made: the samples WERE GONE! The gummy adhesive strips that had once held my coveted samples to the paper were still intact, but were no longer safely transporting my free products.

Who even has access to a piece of mail in transit? I have no idea! My guesses (complete speculation) include postal workers at the distribution/sorting center, postal workers at the local post office, mail carriers, Walmart sample processing employees, and maybe Walmart’s couriers who drive the samples to be mailed out. I have no idea how many hands touched my sample postcard before it reached its final destination, but in my mind, everybody and anybody is a suspect…
The Downside:
This free sample is no longer available to request from Walmart. I could email Walmart and ask for a replacement, but the samples have probably already run out (since it’s not available anymore). Now I will never know if these 3 products are worth purchasing with my frugal money!
Missing Samples: A Cold Case in the Making?
With no leads and no desire to investigate further, this sample-thievery has all the makings of a cold case- an unsolved mystery, if you will. It’s true we may never know who stole the John Frieda Weather Works Frizz Ease shampoo, conditioner and serum, but I’m not going to lose any sleep over the matter. I will be strong and live to request free samples for another day.
Word to the Wise:
Don’t be driven to a life of crime! I know Homemaker Barbi’s free samples are out of sight, but don’t take them from mailboxes! Instead, sign up for our free RSS feed or email updates to be notified of great freebies when they become available and request them. You’ll be glad you did when you starting receiving tons of free stuff in the mail!

I am so sorry this happened. We have had stuff taken before too, but only when we lived overseas…

Hmmm… While we don’t have missing items… so far… We are always amazed at our mail persons ability to fit way more into our tiny box then should be possible… How they get it in there we no not… but we have a heck of a time getting them out… At times it seem like we need the jaws of life

Don’t feel alone! I also have had missing samples from boxes or envelopes.
That sucks! I hate it when samples aren’t there with the rest of the packaging. It’s such a disappointment, lol. I can vouch for John Freida’s products, though. His frizz-ease serum is the *only* thing that tames my hair. I actually signed up for this same sample you were ripped off for. It hasn’t shown up yet, but I expect it’s the same quality as his other products. Mr. Frieda gets 2 thumbs up from me!
I am so sorry that happened to you! I just moved to a new town a few months ago and our neighbors children love going through my mailbox and getting things out-I have seen them through the window do this. I Don’t want to say anything to their parents since we are the newbies on the block-and want to make friends with all.
@Laura – Oh no! I understand about not wanting to say anything to the parents. My advice is to call the post office and tell them the situation; they may have a solution for you.

That is so funny! I mean, messing with the mail is a federal crime. A postal worker could get fired or worse for something like that.
Homemaker Barbi; I am so sorry that has happened to you too!! I have been having a serious issue with it at my home. I think the mail carrier is the one doing it, as get this….I have a P.O.Box, in another town which I use mostly for Business. I get any and everything if I request for a sample to go there, but the same sample never shows here, or else I have gotten a empty package!!! I know how you feel…..and I do not get it myself…….I spoke to the post master locally he was like?!!!! I also had to file a damanged box last year at Christmas when i sent a friend of mine some baked goods, a computer game, socks, a shirt, and a solid gold necklace. He called me up all upset sayng that the box had been opened, and retaped with different tapes!!!! Someone stole all of the candy/baked goods they left empty bags complete with crumbs!!!! They tore open the package the shirt was in, it looked like it was tried on!!! I guess they had cold feet, they stole the socks…….The gold necklace was messed with also…..I at least was able to get my insurance money back!!!! I had to make more candy/baked goods and send them yet again!!!! I hope that other folks have better luck than I do with he mail…..LOL
@SUnny: I laughed so hard as I read this out loud to my husband! I can’t believe they tried the shirt on but left it! I hope your luck with the mail changes
