  2. Every year I make “spooky” looking food as a special post trick-or-treat meal. The kids enjoy all the silly foods they don’t normally get.

  4. Our kids are grown but my husband and I love to go watch all the little ones. We take our camera and pass out candy.

  5. We live in Washington, DC, so we love to actually DO the trick o treating, at all the embassies!

  6. This will be the first year we take both of our little boys Trick or Treating!!! One is going to be a skeleton and the other a pumpkin:)

  7. I like to go to someone else’s house so I can enjoy the activities and treats but don’t have to be “tempted” at home by leftover candy : )!

  8. My favorite part is handing out the candy and seeing all the fun costumes

  9. My son is grown up but when he was little my favorite thing was to dress up with him and we’d go out together and see how many of our family members would recognize us. We loved spending time together and that was a fun time for us.

  10. We don’t have kids yet but we typically go to a Halloween party or have the party.

  11. I love to decorate my house and work for Halloween. I have more decorations for Halloween than Christmas!

  12. I like to decorate my house (inside and out) with Halloween decorations – including a black light in porch. I take my girls and their friends trick-or-treating. My husband stays home and passes out the candy. :D

  13. My favourite thing to do at Halloween (and Christmas, St. Paddy’s Day, Valentine’s Day), is having our landlords little girl down with me for the day. I don’t have Children, so having her down with me is great!!She is 3 years old. She loves to bake! So last year she came down in the morning, I took her to the pumpkin patch, we picked out a few pumpkins and went on a hay ride there. Then we came home and baked some Halloweeen cupcakes. We scooped out the pumpkins (which she said was “yucky”, but she enjoyed it lol). After we had the pumpkins done, we put some decorations up and by that time the cupcakes were cooled enough to put icing on. She loved to have her own candies, icing, cupcake and sprinkles to decorate her own cupcake. Then we watched Shrek (because it’s her favourite movie!).. It was the greatest day! :o )

  14. i love to see all the costumes…I always take my kid out every year. They have so much fun.

  15. I take my kids to 2 churches, our own and an affiliate. They do the trick-or-trunk which is fun. The kids dress up the people open up their trunks and decorate them and they dress up too and hand out candy. My kids really enjoy it. There is also games, food and prizes, its a real family event.

  16. We celebrate Halloween during the entire month of October. We watch Halloween movies (kid-friendly ones), head to the Magic Kingdom for Mickey’s Not So Scarry Halloween Party, Sea World’s Halloween Spooktacular, and of course enjoy trick-or-treating, and passing out candy in the neighborhood.

  17. My oldest son hands out candy.

  18. To celebrate Halloween, several of us friends get together here if Florida to have a potluck. Getting together with friends helps us to cope with missing our little ones up in the cold north..

  19. We go trick or treating house to house. There are about 100-150 kids that come by to get candy, it’s quite amazing! I make soup before my kids go off and my husband takes them to about 20 houses in the area. It might be more this year, since it’s going to be on a Saturday. We make sure we check every single piece of candy before they eat it and we’ve never had any problems. A few that have become unwrapped I throw out but otherwise, we have pretty great neighbors. You can never be too careful, though!

  20. I love to decorate my house to the extreme to where it looks like your walking up to a haunted house :-)

  21. My favorite Halloween activity is going to the pumpkin patch each year with my family. The time just flies by and the kids are growing so fast, so I savor these moments watching them have fun while they’re young. Thanks for the giveaway!

  22. I found this on twitter. thought it would be great if I won. I never win these things ;-)

  23. We go to a nearby neighborhood where several blocks really get into decorating and we walk around there going house to house. This year we have a baby so it will be a lot of fun.

  24. We have twins so it is fun to coordinate their costumes for Halloween!

  25. When my kids were little, my husband took them around and my house was the potty stop house.

  27. We enjoy taking our three girls trick or treating every year. Unfortunately I will be working that night so my husband will do the honors this year. I’ll be able to help them get ready before since I’ll be working nights though. Last year we went with another couple and their child and we all (even the grown ups) dressed up!

  28. LOVE LOVE HALLOWEEN..LOVE TO MAKE GOODIES,AND MY WEDDING RECEPTION WAS HALLOWEEN THEME..SO MUCH FUN,EVERYONE IN THERE COSTUMES,THIS YEAR IM TAKING MY NIECE TRICK OR TREATING… CANT WAIT!!

  29. I live way out in the country and we wait for our friends to bring their children for trick or treating. The best part is there are only a couple that come way out here so I can make them up special packages! It’s fun!

  30. When the kids were little we used to take them house to house to beg for candy:)
I always looked throught the loot afterwards and took all the good stuff for myself

  31. My husband likes to set up his telescope and show the kids stars & planets, they really enjoy it, even stop back just to look again :-)

  32. Every year we put on a scary movie so there will be sound effects when the kids come to the door!

  33. Every year I take the kids to the harvest party at church! Fun times in a warm and safe environment…it doesn’t get any better.

  34. We enjoy attending Reformation Day parties as opposed to Halloween Parties. Reformation day is November 1st, so it’s a great time to celebrate something positive.

  35. I actually follow weight watchers points on my own, so this would be awesome.

  36. Favorite Halloween Activity…probably making the costumes. This year my girls are going as Luna Lovegood and Hermione Granger from Harry Potter. I’m making the robes, and a friend made them replica wands. Ties and patches from ebay. Add a homemade cork necklace, and an old dusty leather book….:)

  37. My husband loves to put on this crazy mask at halloween. Every year he scares me one way or another…lol

  38. I like taking my son to the mall to see all the costumes and get candy that way. Fun fun!

  39. My favorite thing about Halloween is talking to the Trick or Treaters about their costumes.

  40. Every year our local zoo has an event called the “Zoo Boo”. They have trick or treating and entertainment. Tons of fun.

  41. I have a bowl with a hand in it and it grabs you and speaks different things when you try to take some candy. I have it here at work, sitting above my desk on a ledge and it is hilarious to hear people jump and say things when they are walking by trying to grab some candy!!

  42. Awesome giveaway!!! We’re taking our kids to a Harvest Costume party this year instead of trick-or-treating. That way the candy is limited but not the FUN!!!

  43. Each year since my daughter was in Pre-K, we host a Halloween Harvest Party for her classmates. It helps us to get to know the parents and the children early in the school year. As the year goes on she will talk about them and refer to them as to what they were dressed as for the party. So, us as parents have a clue who she is talking about! It has worked out great each year to meet the parents also, it is a great ice breaker!

  44. I love to hand out the candy to the trick or treaters and see all the kids costumes.

  45. My husband and I make up little treat bags of candy for Halloween every year. We decorate the house and play spooky music outside. Sometimes we even dress up. Now our boys (ages 16,and 12) like to dress up to scare the trick or treaters. We always have 1 or 2 carved pumpkins that we roast the seeds from and usually have a halloween party. It is one of our favorite holidays!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Now I can enjoy treats on this spook day as well! Thanks Whitmans & WW!!!!!!!!!!!

  46. My kids aren’t big lovers of going door to door. The last few Halloweens we have actually went and played tennis. It is a lot of fun and the kids love doing stuff like that as a family.

  47. I don’t usually stay home for Halloween. Usually involved in some kind of rehearsal!

  48. Tweeted this at http://twitter.com/mscarolm

  50. We use to turn our garage into a haunted house. The kids had to go through it to get their treat. Of course, little ones that were afraid to enter, still got a treat! We even had some brave ones go through!

  51. Even though my kids are grown and don’t trick or treat anymore, the gals at our office always have a party and make spooky foods, like ghost rolls and graveyard dessert :)

  58. I think this is a fantastic giveaway! Thank you for doing it. My favorite Halloween activity is getting the kids dressed up and sending them off with Daddy for trick or treating, then putting on some scary shows to watch, while I answer the door to see all the trick or treaters that visit my house! Usually they have a Ghost Hunters marathon on that night, so that’s my tv viewing of choice!

  62. My older kids take the younger ones to the mall to trick or treat.

  63. I love to greet all the trick-or-treaters, but am often working. One year, I left a bowl of candy on the porch with a sign that said “One per customer – Happy Halloween!” I arrived home in time to catch one goblin trying to make off with the entire bowl!

  64. Every year for Halloween my husband and I have a date night. We dress up and usually go to dinner and a scary movie. It’s our favorite time of year. When we have a house and family we will probably do more of the decorating and handing out candy thing, but for right now we are selfish and spend quality time together! :)

  71. My husband and I love to dress up with our son to take him out trick or treating as a family :)

  72. One of my favorite Halloween memories was from my Junior year of college (just 3 years ago!). I was a Resident Assistant in the Freshman girls’ residence hall and our staff created a program in which we hosted trick-or-treating for the neighborhood children. The residents put up a pumpkin sign outside of their door if they were home and accepting trick-or-treaters. Our residence hall was 10 floors, so those kids got a lot of candy!! I passed out pencils and erasers instead of candy : )
