If you haven’t been there, here’s the scoop on Aldi stores: they are not that big, they have “their” brand of products, along with some name brands, but they are very cheap. You bag your own groceries, and you bring your own bags or get charged something like a nickel per bag—a good reminder to bring along your reusable shopping bags.
Freebies and free samples are a relief of fun little luxuries for those of us frugal moms who have cut down the budget to the bare necessities. These freebies are really free, with no hidden catches or shipping charges.
K-Mart is doing super-double coupons again right now (7/6/09). It is very “hit and miss” (from what I can tell) on which stores participate. The best idea is to call ahead and find out.
