“I am new to the whole Homemaker routine.  It was just as recent as last week that my amazing Fiance threw the “green light” for me to become a Full Time HomeMaker.  Needless to say, I am thrilled.  I love having the ability to take care of our home and family (though it is currently just us and our 6 month old German Sheppard).

So, while organizing my week, and deciding what to do on what day.  I thought to look online for any information regarding “the transition to HomeMaker”.  It is surprising to me that there really isn’t a whole lot.  I did find a whole lot of things under “housewife” that I wish I hadn’t seen.  But then I stumbled across your site.  And my spirits lifted.  I found exactly what I was looking for.

So, I wanted to say thank you.  And how thrilled I am to find a site that has a little bit of everything that I am looking for.
Sincerely,
Theodora (soon-to-be) Bousdoukos” – 6/20/09

“Danelle,
“Thank you so much for creating this great site! It is such a valuable resource! I have followed you on Twitter for a while and also at Mommy Bloggers Club. I checked out your site a couple of weeks ago and now I am addicted! I love all the recipes, tips and etc. I really feel like women really need help like this, but at times are too afraid to ask. The household cleaning charts have helped me so much, as I have a four year old and a two week old. It really helps with time management and also helps to get rid of the overwhelming feeling of “where do I start?”

“Also the Tired Mom mini makeover tips were a huge success for me. I am that tired mom and the mom who is frequently seen in yoga pants and a girly t-shirt. I realized that last week, I wore the same yoga pants three days in a row, granted I didn’t leave the house, but still. Pretty bad for someone who used to run a bank!

“Thank you for all of your great articles! I love them all and have added another post about the mini makeovers to my site, plus I added the website badge. I really hope that more women use the great resources in your site!
Best Wishes,

“Homemaker Barbi is magazine style blog, not a personal blog, with many different writers and contributors. It’s fairly new on my reading list, but they cover so many different topics, one of them is bound to appeal to everyone.”

“I appreciate the access to the free magazine subscriptions. I have cancelled the one’s I was paying for. it came to about $75 a year. I love getting a new magazine in the mail almost every day, and as a working mom, reading magazines is my downtime when the kids are in bed. I bring them into work and let them circulate so they get read more than once. Keep up the great work Barbi!”

“CONGRATULATIONS! You went against the status quo and it worked brilliantly! You are quite an inspiration to me and I wish you the best of luck in the future with this website. You give mothers everywhere hope that they have the skills needed to make a life for themselves…husband/family or not. Growing up as a young woman we don’t hear it enough…that we could successfully be mothers and have a career we love. Live the dream life. It’s there we just have to believe in ourselves. You help everyone do just that so thank you!”

“I was so glad to stumble upon this article. My mother passed away 6 years ago this April, and I’m having a really tough time giving in to it. When I look at the c
lothes they make me remember her, but like your article stated, I’ve got pictures galore of my mother! The other hint I will now try to abide to is only having in my closet what feels good and fits. So true. It’s so depressing anyway to try old jeans on, it’s almost like I need to close the chapter on my “skinny jean” days. What a great writer you are, I look forward to reading more inspirational articles.”

“Great post! Sometimes it is hard to step outside of the comfort zone and live up to your expectations not to the world’s expactations. Thanks for giving others the courage to follow their hearts and dreams.”

“Fabulous checklist. I plan to hang it up in the bathroom as a reminder for my daughter when she cleans her bathroom. Thanks for including it on your blog!”

“Thanks for this. I really needed this right now, with a closet full of clothes that I NEVER wear. I cleared out 2 drawers today and sent the bags with Hubby because the drop off (TAX DEDUCTABLE) is right next door to his work. Now I can’t go diving for them, and we have another deduction for our taxes!”

“I know how overwhelmed you can become with clutter…I went through my home and threw away so many things I didn’t need, gave away or repurposed. It has changed my life to some extent, not to be addicted to all these things. I can find things now. I buy less and Use things up. I no longer stop at garage sales or thrift stores unless there is something I really need. …Love your blog Barbi,,,I just found it today..Pulled you into my favs..”
