Happy Veteran’s Day!

“I’m proud to be an American
where at least I know I’m free,
And I won’t forget the men who died
who gave that right to me,
And I gladly stand up next to you
and defend her still today,
‘Cause there ain’t no doubt I love this land
God Bless the U.S.A”

-Proud to be an American by Lee Greenwood

Lots of people are off work today for Veteran’s Day, and planning a long weekend full of fun activities with family and friends.  Let’s not forget what today is all about!  Shake a soldier’s hand today and tell them thank you for keeping us free!

Help Military Families Get Diapers with New Camo Diapers!

image

Huggies strikes again with their cool printed designer diapers, and this time it’s for a great cause!

For a short time, people can help Huggies provide needy military families with diapers in Operation Homefront (which gives emergency assistance to the families of service members and wounded warriors), and you can help for free.

Home Ever After is a huge fan of our military families, who make huge sacrifices for the security of our whole country.  Helping with this diaper donation is free and it only takes a minute of your time!  Here’s how to help:

  • Go to HuggiesCamo.com and make a camo card, which is a postcard telling about your appreciation for our military men and women.
  • Huggies will donate a diaper to a military family for each camo card made on their site.

The other way to help Huggies donate diapers to military families is to buy the limited edition Huggies  camo diapers at Walmart (which are adorable).  For each camo diaper purchased, Huggies will donate one diaper to Operation Homefront up to 500,000 diapers!

Go make your camo card now to help our military families!

Remembering Our Troops: Christmas Wreaths at Arlington National Cemetery

This stunning photo of the graves at Arlington National Cemetery decorated with matching Christmas wreaths is so moving that we just had to share.  Thank you to all of our soldiers, past, present, and future, that serve our country to preserve the freedoms we hold so dear.

We hope that all the military wives and husbands with spouses overseas fighting the war right now have the grace to enjoy the holiday with your children and we pray that your families are united soon.

Talking Valentines Day Flowers for Soldiers!

With Valentine’s Day less than two weeks away, the options for Valentine gifts are showing up everywhere.  Flowers, candy, stuffed animals, jewelry.  It’s all nice, but none of those gifts are very original.  It looked like the Valentine’s Day loot was going to be the same as last year…

Or so we thought!  In our search for something a little bit different, we came across talking roses at FTD.com.  The screen shot at left shows what they look like.

More than just Valentines flowers, these vases come with a red plastic heart attached- which plays a recorded message of your voice!  After ordering the flowers online, you record a personalized message by telephone.  The florist transfers your phone message into the heart, attaches it to the vase, and your personal Valentine wish is ready for delivery!

These talking flowers seem like a great option if you and your sweetheart are spending time apart this Valentine’s Day.  We especially love this idea for military spouses!  Deployed soldiers will love being able to send a personalized message with their own voice, letting their loved ones know that even though space is separating them physically, they’re still together in mind and heart.

We checked out the regular roses at FTD also, any many of them are on sale for 50% off (and you know we love a sale!).
