Recipe: Hubby’s Best Crab and Mushroom Fettuccine Alfredo
This seafood fettuccine recipe makes a fantastic romantic dish for a date-night evening at home after the kids have gone to bed! Hubby’s Best recipes are exclusively crafted for Home Ever After by Michael Simmons.
This creamy dish was made by “hubby” as the co-main course for the Valentine’s Day 2009 dinner. The other co-main course’s recipe will be available next Tuesday, and if you haven’t subscribed yet, you’ll want to do it now so you won’t miss the recipe!

Ingredients
- 1 cup chopped mushrooms
- 1 cup cooked, shelled crabmeat
- 1 box fettuccine
- 3/4 cup butter or margarine, divided
- 1 1/2 cup heavy cream
- 1/2 grated parmesan cheese
- 1 1/2 teaspoons chopped garlic
Directions
To make the alfredo sauce:
1. In saucepan, melt ½ cup of butter.
2. Add the cream and parmesan cheese and melt over medium heat.
To prepare the dish:
1. Sauté the mushrooms and garlic in 2 tablespoons of butter – set aside.
3. Add ½ the sautéed mushrooms to the Alfredo sauce. Stir and keep it on low heat.
4. Cook the fettuccine until it’s al dente, about 10 minutes.
5. On the bed of fettuccine, put some crab meat, then some sauce.
6. Top with more sautéed mushrooms and enjoy!
