Recently we’ve received some invitations to join groups about sensitive topics, such as the appropriateness of showing breastfeeding pictures on Facebook.  You may have heard that this topic is being hotly debated recently, as Facebook wanted to remove the photos altogether.  Home Ever After cannot take a side on this subject, because one of our core values involves remaining neutral on all controversial issues.  Here’s why:

We have friends, readers, and staff members on all sides of all issues.  We’re all different, and that’s what makes the world a wonderful place.  It is our intention never to isolate anyone because of their feelings on sensitive topics.

It’s a fact of life that people will always feel strongly about certain issues, and our team members are no different.  As individuals, we are each passionate about topics that are meaningful to us.  This passion can stir up high levels of emotion, causing people to say things and act in ways that they normally wouldn’t.

While we may report about current events related to controversial matters, our writers are professional journalists who keep their personal feelings out of the material.  Even though that may be difficult at times, it helps us to further our mission as a company: to help people live extraordinary lives by providing them with the most comprehensive home and how-to information online.

If we lose our objective focus on bringing you the information you trust us to provide, then we have not only done you a disservice, but we have also let ourselves down.  We strive to make all people feel welcome in our community, regardless of their affiliations or stands.

IS World Media has decided to gracefully bow out by taking a neutral stance on the following issues:

  • Working moms vs. stay at home moms
  • Breastfeeding vs.  bottle feeding
  • Home schooling vs. public schooling
  • Gay vs.  straight
  • Appropriateness of breastfeeding photos being shown online
  • All religious issues
  • Political parties and agendas
  • Legislation and propositions

Thank you very much for understanding our feelings on this matter, and I sincerely hope that no one is offended by our choice not to get involved.

I think your decision is a sound one. Unless you’re passionate about issues yourself, why jump on the bandwagon just to be a friend to somebody? If you’re like me, you can see both sides of most issues anyway.
