It’s true- we’re getting rid of everything.  Well, almost everything.  My minimalist processes over the last year had finally come to a brilliant eruption with our new circumstances of selling our house and moving out of Alaska.

I’ve found each day of decluttering during the last month to be challenging and liberating at the same time.  I’m going through every single box, every drawer, even paperclips- I’ve decluttered paperclips.

I keep pulling out my bible for every-few-hour inspiration to keep my focused and full of decluttering steam.  I keep reciting the “sell your possessions, donate to the poor” (Luke 12:33) bit and “a time to keep and a time to throw away” (Ecclesiastes 3:6) to keep me moving forward.  Every time I fill up the minivan, I leave and drop everything off at a local charity, even if it’s 11 o’clock at night!

I’m almost ready to show before and after pictures.  We are on the last few days of this purge.  The goal is to be finished by February 21st.  I can’t wait to share our results!

We’re getting there! It’s definitely taking longer than I planned… things can be so hard to get rid of when they have memories attached to them. I keep reading my verses and reminding myself that these things aren’t what God wants me to focus my time on. Thanks for the encouragement, Wendy!
