Take and Make Menu Plan with Superbowl Appetizers

We love helping you save time and money!  Homemaker Barbi’s exclusive Take and Make Menu Plans contain everything you need for an entire week’s dinners with no research and minimal work on your part!  We even provide you with the recipes to use, crafted from some of the finest chefs in the country.  This week’s menu includes a special Superbowl Sunday lunch and appetizers section for the big game.

Print out the Take And Make Menu Plan each Sunday, which includes:

  • A shopping list of ingredients.  Print out the list, check off what you already have on hand, then take your shopping list to the store.
  • A dinner meal for each day. Click the name of the meal to print the recipe and directions.  (After the week is over, add the recipes to your cookbook for future use.)

Simply Recipes – Includes Super Bowl Appetizers

Menu is planned for a family of 4.  Please adjust ingredients and recipes up to accommodate extra people.

Shopping List:

Meats and Proteins:
____  4 strips bacon
____  5 pounds of chuck roast
____  1 14-oz can red kidney beans
____  1/2 pound boneless pork loin
____  1 1/2 lb. cheddar cheese
____  1 1/4 cup Parmesan cheese
____  2 eggs
____  9 boneless chicken thighs
____  3/4 cup mozzarella cheese
____  1/2 pound sweet Italian sausage
____  1/2 pound spicy or hot Italian sausage
____  1 pound of top sirloin or tenderloin
Vegetables:
____  3 white onions
____  1 red onion
____  15 cloves garlic
____  2 jalapeño chili peppers
____  1 14-oz can whole tomatoes
____  2 28-ounce can crushed tomatoes
____  2 14.5-ounce cans diced tomatoes in juice
____  2 carrots
____  1 bunch green onions
____  8 shallots
____  1 head iceberg lettuce
____  1 bunch spinach
____  2 tomatoes
____  1/2 pound of mushrooms
Liquids:
____  1 Tbsp lime juice
____  1 Tbsp vegetable oil
____  1 cup chicken broth
____  1/2 cup orange juice
____  2 Tbsp cider vinegar
____  12 Tbsp olive oil
____  6 Tbsp tomato paste
____  2 Tbsp balsamic vinegar
____  4 cups chicken stock
____  3/4 cup milk
____  grapeseed oil
Spices:
____  2 Tbsp red chili powder
____  1 tsp chipotle chile powder
____  1.5 Tbsp ground cumin
____  4 tsp oregano
____  2 tsp thyme
____  1/2 tsp ground coriander seeds
____  2 1/2 tsp salt
____  3/4 tsp black pepper
____  1/4 teaspoon dried red pepper
____  1/2 cup chopped fresh basil
____  1 Tbsp caraway seeds
____  1 1/2 Tbsp sweet Hungarian paprika
____  1 teaspoon spicy Hungarian paprika
____  2 Tbsp minced fresh marjoram leaves
____  1 Tbsp sage
____  1 bay leaf
____  nutmeg
____  tarragon
____  cilantro
Other:
____  1.5 Tbsp sugar
____  1/2 Tbsp brown sugar
____  8 Tbsp butter
____  12 corn tortillas
____  1 cup of salsa
____  2 cup sour cream
____  1 cup whipping cream
Grains / Baking:
____  1.5 Tbsp cornstarch
____  1 package egg noodles
____  3/4 cup breadcrumbs
____  1/2 cup all purpose flour
____  1 package spaghetti
____  2 cups cake flour
____  2 teaspoons baking powder
____  1 package fettuccine
____  2 cups uncooked rice
Ingredients ONLY for Superbowl Appetizer – Buffalo Wings:
____  2 lbs chicken wings
____  3 Tbsp butter
____  4 Tbsp bottled hot pepper sauce
____  1 Tbsp paprika
____  1/2 teaspoon salt
____  1/2 teaspoon cayenne pepper
____  1/4 teaspoon black pepper
____  Celery sticks
____  1/2 cup sour cream
____  1/2 cup crumbled blue cheese
____  1/2 cup mayonnaise
____  1 Tbsp white vinegar
____  1 clove garlic
Ingredients ONLY for Superbowl Appetizer – Guacamole & Chips:

____  2 avocados
____  1 red onion
____  1-2 serrano chiles
____  2 tablespoons cilantro leaves
____  Lemon or lime juice
____  salt
____  black pepper
____  1 tomato
____  Tortilla chips

Dinner:  Citrus Pork with Egg Noodles (pictured at left).  This great frugal recipe is quick and easy and uses inexpensive ingredients.

Tuesday

Dinner: Chicken Marinara (pictured at left) served with spaghetti and side salads.  This perfect mid-winter meal is warm and rich, with melted cheese and a hint of old-world style.  Parents and kids alike will be wanting seconds on this dish!

Dinner: Beef Goulash with Dumplings (pictured at left).

Thursday

Dinner: Enchiladas (pictured at left).  A favorite of the chef’s family for generations, this Tex-Mex version of enchiladas is sure to please.  Go on- try it, and leave a comment about what you think of the taste!

Chili con carn recipeLunch:  Chili con Carne (pictured at left) is perfect for all the friends you have over for the Superbowl.  It’s easy to make in large quantities with minimal preparation time, and everyone loves chili!

Dinner: Leftover Love. Spread out a buffet table of all the leftovers from the week’s meals.  This means a day-off for the chef!
