Menu Plan 6-1-08

Menu Plan Monday 2 Homemaker Barbi’s Menu Plan 6-1-08

Welcome to our Menu Plan, The Homemaker Barbi Frugal Café. Half of our family is still out of town, and I’m not making meals for just myself. (The baby is set with his formula!) Although I won’t be cooking this week, I have created a frugal menu plan for you to use as a guide.

This menu is based on the current sale items at Fred Meyer/Kroger.  (That’s where I shop!) Since I planned all the meals around what was on sale, this is an extremely cheap grocery week.  Use this as an example of how to use a store’s weekly grocery ad to plan meals by repeating sale ingredients throughout the week.  Our menu repeats several key cheap ingredients, and only 4 out of 15 items on our shopping list were not on sale.

Shopping List

  • Pork chops (sale)
  • Cauliflower (sale) & Broccoli (sale)
  • Chunk cheddar cheese (sale)
  • Lettuce
  • Tomatoes (sale) & Radishes (sale)
  • FM ham lunch meat (sale)
  • Ramen noodles
  • Cheddar cheese or American slices (sale)
  • Eggs (buy 1 get 1 free)
  • Bone-in chicken fryer breasts (sale)
  • Pork & beans (sale)
  • Hot dogs and buns

Dinners

Monday: Pork chops, cheesy cauliflower rice, garden salad

Tuesday: Ham & cheese melt sandwiches, ramen veggie soup (noodles, broccoli and cauliflower)

Wednesday: ~ Leftover Love ~

Thursday: Breakfast for dinner.  Focus on egg dishes since our sale had them for Buy 1 Get 1 Free!  Think omelets (with ham and tomatoes) or even breakfast sandwiches (cheese slices, fried eggs, ham).

Friday: BBQ outside: Chicken breasts, pork & beans, chef salads (with hard boiled eggs and lunch meat strips)

Saturday: BBQ outside: Hot dogs

Sunday: ~ Leftover Love ~
