It’s Valentine’s week and that means pinks and reds are arranged in vases everywhere to entice you to select them as Valentine’s Day flowers for your loved one. I don’t know about you, but I LOVE getting flowers, no matter what the occasion!
We found out that everyone’s favorite celebrity homemaker, Martha Stewart, is doing flowers now too! She has a collection of floral arrangements at 1800Flowers.com that bears her name and distinct decorative style. The designer vases these flowers come in are the absolute icing on the cake. They are such classic designs and would make a fabulous addition to any room, perfect for an arrangement of silk flowers after the original bunch is gone.
What we love the most about Martha’s flowers is that you also get a free one year subscription to the Martha Stewart Living magazine when you buy any flowers. The magazine subscription alone will run you $14.95, so this gift with purchase is definitely a cool bonus. We dug a little deeper into the fine print for the free subscription and it turns out that if you don’t want the free magazine subscription, you can just get the $14.95 back as a refund!
Aside: My husband bought me flowers this week – daffodils, to be exact – and I split them up into two bunches. One vase went on my desk, and one on the kitchen table. Since I also wanted to enjoy them while I was in bed, I moved the vase from my desk to my nightstand when I went to bed each night.
This made me realize how nice it is to have flowers in different places in the house, and how rarely most of us do have fresh flowers. They’re such a cheery addition to any room and can definitely change your mood in a second. What a great way to keep your spirits up in winter, especially when there’s not much color around and the blooms of spring are still a distant hope. Whether you get flowers for Valentine’s Day this Saturday or not, allow yourself a little extra in the budget now and then for a floral pick-me-up. It doesn’t matter if they come from Martha, your local flower shop, or even the grocery store’s premade bouquets at checkout. You’ll be glad you did!
