What is Family Friday?
Family Friday is a blog carnival at HomeEverAfter.com where you can link your best family-oriented blog posts or website articles each week. This is a fabulous way to meet other like-minded bloggers, gain more exposure for your blog, attract new readers, as well as contribute information and good reading to the blog community.
When we decided to launch a Family Friday column as a cornerstone of our Family & Kids Department, it just made sense to include all of you and your collective wisdom. We can all benefit by sharing, teaching and growing with each other, and what more important topic than family to work together on!
Please help us spread the word: The way to make this blog carnival a success is with the support of the great mommy blogger community. It would be wonderful if you could spread the word by blogging about it, linking to this post, emailing your bloggy friends, or tweeting about it.
Family is a huge subject and a topic that means different things to all of us. You can write about anything that’s family-related. We’ve come up with a small list of examples, but these in no way cover all the possible topics:
- family time, family activities
- parenting posts, marriage posts
- tips or advice
- stories/pictures of your children, fun stuff with kids
- craft projects or cooking projects you do together
- birth stories
- your family’s holiday traditions
- homeschooling posts
- frugal family and more
How to Participate in Family Friday
When: Family Friday will be published every Thursday evening at 11pm Eastern time (8pm Pacific) so that you can link your post and get a jump-start on Friday. The Mr. Linky will be open all week to give you ample time to join us. You can submit a separate link for each Family Friday article you write on any or all of your blogs (not limited to 1 per week).
How: Write a family-related post. You MUST link back to the Family Friday post on HomeEverAfter.com to make it easy for people to find their way back and visit through all the listings. You are free to include the Family Friday graphic if you want in your post or sidebar (or both). Here are the graphics (2 sizes to choose from) and the html code, if you prefer not to save the image to your own server.

How to use the Mr. Linky submission form at the bottom of the weekly Family Friday post:
- In the “Name” field, include your blog name plus a few words summarizing your article. Example: “Home Ever After (Frugal Family Fun)”.
- In the URL field, you MUST link to the permalink, not the main link to your site. The first offense, we’ll fix it for you. The 2nd time, we’ll delete your link. You can usually get the permalink to your post by right-clicking on the post’s title and choosing “copy shortcut”.
Who Can’t Play? Keep it family-friendly! Off-topic links will be deleted. No, you cannot put up your own Family Friday Mr. Linky on your blog. The central Mr. Linky stays here at HomeEverAfter.com so everyone can link up at the same place.
We look forward to seeing you all at Family Friday!
