With the current state of the economy, saving money is on almost everyone’s mind. We’ve been scouring our RSS feeds and the blogworld for practical tips on  how to save money and live below your means, as well as ways to stay happy and healthy until this recession blows over.

1.  8 helpful ways to save $100 this year:

“Know what you have!  This goes from food to all those hand-me-down clothes you have stored in the attic. You need to have a really good idea of what items you have on the pantry shelf. I match items that I have on hand with recipes when I do my weekly menu planning.”

2.  16 Energy Boosters That Won’t Leave You Depleted at Simple Mom. “When our bodies are running well we Spring Energy Boosterwake up refreshed. We don’t need to rely on energy crutches – like a morning cup of coffee – to get through the day,” writes Lisa Byrne.

3.  10 Reasons You Are Rich at Marc & Angel.  This article is short and sweet, but profound, and really makes you think about how grateful we should be for what we have.  And while we’re on the subject…

4.  18 Means for Living Below Your Means, also at Marc & Angel.  I’ve said this before in the comments, but I’ll say it again now because I think it’s important.  If you don’t subscribe to the RSS feed at Marc & Angel already, you should.  Their articles are always meaningful, helpful, and inspirational – I’ve read every one since the day I discovered their site.

5. Thirty Second Thrift – Take a Quick Look at Donation Items at Simply Thrifty.
