He teaches sophomores, and the district wants to teach them complicated upper level concepts when they don't even know whether to use "there" or "their." It's awful. Students HAVE to grasp the basics, or else nothing else you try to teach them will get through. Education is this country is really messed up...my husband always says that even though he teaches in our school system, he would never allow our children to go there. And I'm with him.
