This is such a great list!! It should be printed out – and then put the name and phone number of a professional next to each of those items, so should you need to call a pro, you will have the number already.

I was quite pleased going through the list, that I knew how to do most of those – and have done most! ahhh home ownership.

My greatest tip is about Vitamin E

Oooh, I just had an epiphany! This should be sent to all new homeowners. My sister is buying a house this week, her first one and she is certainly going to need some instructions. The link is being sent immediately.

I’m bookmarking this. We’re in the process of buying a home, and the maintenance issue is one of the most stress-inducing parts of it. I’m sure this will come in handy!

@Leanne: I agree. The last thing you want to do when your husband gets home from work is say, “Oh by the way, the _________ is broken. Can you fix it?”! I’m glad the list will come in handy!

You’re quite welcome. I joke with my husband when he’s gone that I won’t be able to do anything without him, but I think he really is quite proud (and relieved) to know that if something WAS to happen when he wasn’t home, I’d be able to take care of it. It’s a good feeling!
