Guidelines for Guest Posting
If you haven’t read How to Guest Post at Homemaker Barbi already, please do so now. Thanks for your interest in guest posting on HomemakerBarbi.com! To make things easier on both parties, we’ve established guidelines that allow us both to have clear expectations of each other’s responsibilities. Unfortunately, we live in a litigious society, so we have to include the legal terms as well. We hope you understand, and agree to follow the guidelines and be bound by the legal terms when submitting an article as a guest post to Homemaker Barbi and HB Media.
Thank you, and I look forward to a possible partnership with you in the future!

Being invited to guest post for us means we highly respect your writing style and content. We have a very high standard for our content, and request that you observe the following guidelines when submitting your article to guestpost(at)HomemakerBarbi(dot)com:
1. No profanity. An English teacher once told me that swearing in your writing is a sign of a limited vocabulary! Seriously, we don’t want to offend anyone with foul language, so no swears, cusses or bad words.
2. No affiliate links. There is a time and a place for affiliate links, and we prefer to keep ours on our site and yours on your site. (This includes coupon codes.) We hope you understand.
3. Make sure your article type fits our site’s style. We deliver mainly informational, instructional, and how-to articles. Column-style, first-person articles are also welcome as long as the content is relevant and on-topic for the site.
4. Up to 4 links to your site are allowed. The whole point of guest posting is cross-promotion, so of course we want your article to have links back to your site! Feel free to include 4 links to your site, as specified below:
a. One to your main page / site / entry page
b. One to your subscribe page OR two direct subscription links (1 RSS and 1 email subscription)
c. One link of your choice on your site (maybe to a relevant article, an About page, or other appropriate link).
5. Please provide your bio / website blurb which is to appear at the beginning or end of your guest post. Your bio / blurb should be no longer than 300 characters. As an example, here is what our blurb looks like:
“The following is a guest post written by Danelle "Barbi" Ice, creator of HomemakerBarbi.com. Homemaker Barbi is an online magazine packed with free resources and specializing in homemaking, frugal living, and family life. If you like this article, please subscribe to Homemaker Barbi for free.”
6. Please check your spelling, grammar and punctuation.
7. Photo permission. If submitting images or graphics, make sure you have permission to use them and include proper credit in your article with links to the source as required.
8. All sources, excerpts and quotes must be attributed and credited properly.
9. Please keep the deadline that we both have agreed to. Articles not received on time may not be published if there is not ample time for reformatting, proofing, etc.
Please keep in mind that all articles will be edited as needed to correct spelling, grammar and punctuation. If the Guidelines for Guest Posting haven’t been followed, we may ask you to correct the necessary items and resubmit your article as time allows.
The Legal Portion
By submitting an article to Homemaker Barbi or HB Media, you agree to retain the following rights and be bound by the following terms:
1. Your article will NOT be published without proper credit to you as the author or without links back to your designated website as long as it exists. If, for any reason in the future, your links return a site that has been closed, deleted, or otherwise ceases to function, the links will be removed, but your name will still be credited.
2. Your article will be published in electronic format on the website www.HomemakerBarbi.com.
3. Your article will be redistributed as part of Homemaker Barbi’s RSS feed and through our email subscription service.
4. You agree not to republish the article, in part or in its entirety, on your website or any website, RSS feed, email subscription, or any other written or electronic publishing media, including but not limited to e-mail, newsletter, e-book, book, magazine or website. You confirm that this material has never been previously published or distributed in any format, including but not limited to e-mail, article database, newsletter, e-book, book, magazine, newspaper or website, media or other technology. (Why? Google provides penalties for duplicate content, and we don’t want to incur penalties for our site or yours.)
5. You are free to link to the article and may include the title of the article along with an excerpt from the article (which must be LESS than 350 characters).
6. The Guidelines for Guest Posting are subject to modification and change at any time, and it is the responsibility of the guest poster to check this page and the How to Guest Post at Homemaker Barbi page from time to time to monitor updates and/or changes to the terms.
If, for any reason, you do not agree to be bound to the above terms, please do not submit a guest post to Homemaker Barbi or HB Media. At any time prior to Homemaker Barbi or HB Media publishing your article, you may contact us via email at guestpost(at)HomemakerBarbi(dot)com to withdraw submission of your article. Submission may not be withdrawn after the article has been published on HomemakerBarbi.com.
