Barbi’s Grocery Shopping Spectacular 6/7/08
My weekly trip to Fred Meyer for groceries was an amazing one as far as coupon savings!
- Total regular price of groceries (appx): $70.00
- Total sale price of groceries: $47.47
- Store coupons used: – $4.00
- Manufacturer coupons used: – $5.00
- Fred Meyer Rewards coupons: – $16.00
Total Paid for $70 worth of groceries: $22.47!
Of course I don’t do this well every week, but taking the time to clip and print coupons really does pay off. Also, watch the weekly ads for sale items you can combine with coupons. For example, this week Fred Meyer had Cinnamon Life cereal on sale for $2.50/box. I had been saving my Cinnamon Life printable coupons, and when the cereal went on sale I bought 4 boxes and used a coupon for each one. My cereal cost $1.50 per box! Prices of cereal are higher here in Alaska, and usually the coupon + sales don’t give us free cereal. However, $1.50 is pretty low, considering our regular prices are $4-$6 per box! Another great deal with a coupon I’d been saving (I only buy soda on free or almost-free deals):
Diet 7Up 2 Liter… Reg. $2.99, Sale $2.00, Coupon $1 off = $1.00
