I am so very proud of my Handsome Husband, as he proudly takes his lunch to work daily, instead of buying food elsewhere, and then taking it to work, like the vast majority of people whom he works with do!
He was telling me the other day about so many people who come to work with a sub or some other type of fast food and do not bat an eye at spending $1.50 for a soda for lunch, and breaks also, from a vending machine.
They also pay $1.00 or more for chips/snacks from a vending machine.
These people spend between $10.00-$15.00 a day for lunch/snacks/drinks.......As you do realize, all of that adds up rather fast. I am stunned that people do not use their brains to think about how much money they could save for something important instead of fast food, and vending machines.
It does help that I enjoy cooking, so I always make extra foods, so that my Husband has a variety of things to take for lunch/snacks daily.
We buy sodas on sale, and he takes them to work as well as chips, that we rebag in sandwich bags. He also takes a very large heavy duty plastic cup that he refills with ice at work and drinks iced water in between a meal/snack. This has been a tremendous saving for us, and We look forward to saving the money that he would have spent in vending machines!!!

Hi! Thanks for following me on Twitter. Love the blog - I just wish my husband was more frugal!

If you think there might be a girlfriend angle for a podcast interview (and you're interested), let me know. It might just be helping our girlfriends deal with tough economic times by being more frugal and your tips?

Let me know if you're interested! Debba www.girlfriendology.com
