Free Comic Book Day is an annual event that happens the first Saturday in May. What this means is that you’ll get at least one free comic book just by going to a participating store. Lots of comic shops are also having author signings the same day and guest appearances by your kids’ favorite costumed characters!
If your kids love comic books as much as mine, they’ll be rating you coolest parent EVER when you take them to the local comic shop this weekend. And the free comic book part? Well, you can give yourself a pat on the back for being so frugal and finding the hottest freebies here!
When? This year, Free Comic Book Day 2009 is on Saturday, May 2nd.
Where? At comic shops across the United States and many other countries. To find a participating location near you, visit the Free Comic Book Day website. Put in your zip code to find a store in your area giving out free comic books. Our local comic book store here in Fairbanks, Alaska is The Comic Shop.
