Don’t Compare your Frugal Efforts to Others

I wrote a short article over at And Freebies For All today about frugality that I wanted to share.  It’s called As Frugal as You Want to Be, and talks about how your frugal levels and efforts can change as your life changes.  It gets tempting to get down on yourself or compare yourself to other frugal moms and dads, and that’s just not productive.  It can actually hurt your frugal efforts and your overall satisfaction with life when you are discouraged!

Here are a few lines from the article:

“Your frugality is personal and you’ll never be the same as anyone else, so give yourself a break and stop comparing!  Even when it seems that all the other frugal bloggers are making everything homemade (homemade bread, dishwashing detergent, baby food), I remember that not everyone can maintain the same level of frugality ALL the time.  It’s natural for things to go in waves, just like the natural rhythm of our everyday lives.”

Feel free to read the rest of the article As Frugal as You Want to Be and leave your words of wisdom in the comments.  Happy frugalizing!
