Duck Tape Christmas Wreath (34) Our metallic gold Duck Tape® Christmas wreath is a DIY holiday project that’s fast, easy, and unique! You can be sure that your holiday home décor won’t look like everyone else’s when you create your own original Christmas designs with special Christmas Duck tape®! Follow the simple step by step instructions below to make your own DIY Duck tape® Christmas wreath.
I know you’ve seen people make all kinds of things out of plain boring grey duct tape. Fortunately for us crafty DIYers, Duck® Brand has made all different colors, designs, and patterns of their flexible but durable Duck tape®! For this Christmas holiday season, they have metallic solid colors (gold, silver, red, white, green), red and white striped, and many other festive Christmas prints and patterns that will spark your DIY craft project side.
For the exclusive Duck tape® Christmas wreath that I created for Duck® brand, I chose metallic gold Duck tape® to use on the wreath base. Depending on your Christmas décor and what you want to put on your wreath, you can use whichever tape color looks the best.

Supplies Needed for Duck Tape® Christmas Wreath:

  • Foam wreath form (from craft store)
  • Metallic Duck tape®
  • Christmas ball ornaments, plastic, assorted sizes and colors
  • Red craft wire
  • Wire cutters
  • Scissors
  • Holiday picks
  • Silver ornament hangers
  • Large velvet bow

Total time: 15 minutes.
Difficulty: Beginner.
Ages: Child to adult.
Choose whichever size of foam wreath form you want from the craft store. It is made out of a styrofoam-like material that is very hard. This is important because we’re going to be sticking pins into the wreath to attach our decorations. Craft wreath forms are usually flat on the back. Duck Tape Christmas Wreath (3) Select your holiday Duck tape®. Here is the metallic gold tape I chose: Duck Tape Christmas Wreath (6) Step 1. Move all of the project supplies out of the way except for the foam wreath form and tape.Duck Tape Christmas Wreath (9) Step 2. Cut a length of tape and wrap all the way around the top of the wreath. This will be where the wreath hanger is attached. Duck Tape Christmas Wreath (11) Step 3. Cut the craft wire with your wire cutters in a length of about 8 inches. Duck Tape Christmas Wreath (14)   Step 4. Bend the wire into a loop and smooth out the shape so it doesn’t have any kinks or creases. Place the wire loop on the flat back of the wreath, on top of the tape as shown below.   Duck Tape Christmas Wreath (12) Step 5. Secure the wire to the wreath by placing a piece of tape over the wire horizontally. Duck Tape Christmas Wreath (15) Step 6. Now it’s time to wrap the wreath with your colored tape. Cut lengths of about 10” – 12” of tape at a time and wrap around the wreath. It’s okay if you have some empty white patches in between; we’ll fix those next. Duck Tape Christmas Wreath (16)
Step 7. Cut small lengths of tape, about 6”, and cover the white areas, starting on the front of the wreath and wrapping the ends around the back. The covered wreath will look like this: Duck Tape Christmas Wreath (17) Duck Tape Christmas Wreath (18)
Step 8. You’re ready to attach the wreath’s focal point. In this project, that will be the large red velvet bow. Position the bow on the top middle of your Duck tape® Christmas wreath, like this: Duck Tape Christmas Wreath (19) Step 9. Turn the wreath over to the back side, and use the bow’s twisty ties to attach to the wreath hanger or around the wreath itself.Duck Tape Christmas Wreath (20) Step 10. Open the Christmas ornaments and ornament hangers. Duck Tape Christmas Wreath (21) Step 11. Loop the ornament hanger through the ornament’s hole at the top. Duck Tape Christmas Wreath (25) Step 12. Pinch the bottom of the hook together to close it up. Duck Tape Christmas Wreath (26) Step 13. Straighten the hook so it can be put into the wreath. Bending the ornament hanger, make the bend close to the ornament and straighten the rest into a long line. Duck Tape Christmas Wreath (28) Step 14. Carefully place each ornament on the wreath where you’d like it, piercing the sharp hanger into the foam through the Duck tape®. Duck Tape Christmas Wreath (31) Step 16. Pierce the end of the pick into the Duck tape® Christmas wreath. Duck Tape Christmas Wreath (32) Step 17. Apply more picks and ornaments until your wreath is as full as you like. Duck Tape Christmas Wreath (46)
